Out on the Town: IAWF Honors Women in Arts, Business and Community
Author:Abigail StoneThe Iranian American Women Foundation (IAWF), which provides a platform for members to expand their personal and professional growth, hosted their inaugural celebration of achievements made by women of Iranian heritage during the Women of Influence Soiree held at the Beverly Hilton. The memorable evening honored 15 powerhouse women who are making their mark in the areas of philanthropy, business, community service, arts, and science.
Founder Mariam Khosravani, a philanthropist and development executive, founded IAWF in 2012 as a way to empower and inspire Iranian women of all ages and career paths. “We wanted to bring our community under one roof to celebrate contributions of the Iranian American women to society,” says Khosravani. “Women usually shy away from receiving recognition for their accomplishments, and we were thrilled to put the spotlight on them and their work to make sure they received the recognition they deserve. It is very important.”
