Linda Boronkay Design Studio Creates a Unique Luxury Experience at Australia’s Osborne House
Author:Michelle KonstantinovskyAward-winning designer, columnist, and former Soho House, London design director Linda Boronkay has helmed a new jaw-dropping venture in the form of Osborn House, a 22-room luxury boutique in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia.
Early settlers George and Dinah Osborn built their grand residence, ‘The Knoll’ in what is now known as Bundanoon. Guests visited the site from the early 1900s until 1925 and the house changed hands throughout the years that followed. In the 1980’s, Sydney-based fitness centre Solar Plexus purchased the grounds to open Solar Springs Health Retreat, which operated for 35 years, and now the site is home to Boronkay’s ultra luxe vision.
The carefully restored and expertly styled 5-star luxury boutique hotel pays homage to the past with a contemporary twist. The cabins feature a modern and sleek design, located on a sprawling green landscape, with bespoke lighting, bohemian style vintage rugs, and classic décor featuring timber panelled walls, and a luxurious freestanding outdoor bath. The property’s suites range from the those featuring distinct luxuries like a four-poster bed, makeup counter, double shower, and mini bar, to those with bespoke bedheads and custom joinery. The stunning Garden Terrace offers front row seats to breathtaking views and is finished with contemporary touches.
Executive chef Segundo Farrell heads up Osborn House’s dining destination, George and Dinah’s. Dishes include delicacies ranging from Black Angus Scotch Fillet to Tathra Duck Breast. Born in Hungary, Boronkay has amassed an impressive roster of global clients. Before founding her own studio in 2020, Linda was Design Director of Soho House where she was responsible for Asia, Europe and the UK regions, overseeing a team of nearly one hundred people including architects, interior designers and a procurement team.
