Author:Lindsey ShookOn April 24, join California Home+Design and the Pacific Design Center and TimberTech for a discussion with industry leaders who are spearheading recovery and rebuild efforts including, Steadfast LA Executive Director Najla Kayyem, Principal at Gensler Duncan Paterson, House of Honey founder Tamara Kaye Honey and Saving Iconic Architecture co-founder Jaime Rummerfield. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Steadfast L.A.’s ongoing rebuild efforts.
Founded by Rick Caruso, Steadfast LA is a civic nonprofit organization that is solely focused on accelerating the rebuilding of Los Angeles after the devastating wildfires by bringing together top leaders, bold ideas and effective solutions to get things done right and fast. Led by executive director Najla Kayyem along with a coalition of pioneering thinkers including Duncan Paterson principal at Gensler, the organization is developing solutions that will get people back in their homes and rebuild as quickly and safely as possible.
L.A.-based designer Tamara Kaye Honey is widely known for curating iconic California homes and most recently launched Project Soft Landing in partnership with LA Can Do, a furniture and home goods relief effort for L.A. fire survivors who lost everything. She and her team at House of Honey are already working with clients in Altadena on strategic rebuild efforts.
Also a designer—Jaime Rummerfield—is now known for her amazing efforts to preserve iconic California architecture through her work at Saving Iconic Architecture. After the fires, she quickly jumped into action along with a coalition called Reimagining Jane’s Village, that is a focused on the reinvention of one of L.A.’s most beloved historic neighborhoods. Rooted in the whimsical and enchanting Storybook architectural style that flourished in the 1920s and ’30s, Jane’s Village in Altadena is a rare and charming enclave that evokes narrative, nostalgia, and craftsmanship. This initiative seeks not merely to preserve its legacy, but to reimagine how the Storybook aesthetic can inform the future of residential design in Los Angeles—balancing fantasy with function, ornament with sustainability.
EVENT LOCATION: Silver Screen Theater inside the Pacific Design Center Green Building, 2nd Floor.
