“With a combined four decades of experience at various design firms in San Francisco, we have honed our skills and developed a deep understanding of the design industry,” says Jenni Gamble, co-founder and Creative Director at Gamble + Design. “Our time spent in residential and commercial Interior Design honed a specialization in optimizing interior spaces for functionality, aesthetic appeal and client satisfaction. Additional years spent in the Lighting Design field has helped us create atmospheric, functional and visually appealing lighting designs that complement interior spaces.”

When hired to update the kitchen, bathrooms and main spaces of this 2,600-square-foot, Tudor style home in San Francisco, they were able to transform each room into a contemporary, colorful destination where the family could entertain and retreat while honoring the original Tudor details. “Our clients’ primary goal was to update the kitchen and bathrooms while maintaining and speaking to the home’s historical essence,” she recalls. “Their secondary goal was to bring the faded and painted-over wood detailing throughout the home back to its original glory. After construction was completed, they asked us to select furniture and custom millwork that respond to the home’s history.”

The beautiful vaulted ceilings in the living room and the arched portals throughout were restored and served as a point of inspiration for their custom designs. “The arches, in particular, were echoed in the living room and kitchen millwork designs,” says Gamble.

The team delivered on the clients’ dreams and curated a jewel-tone sanctuary full of ornate touches that celebrate the architectural integrity. When asked what the response was during the big reveal Gamble proclaims, “They love that their space has been modernized while preserving its historical essence.”
