“We believe that each space is a reflection of the people who inhabit them and are honored to be invited into clients’ homes and trusted with the job of creating a space made for life’s most important memories,” says Jennifer Wundrow, founder of Jennifer Wundrow Interior Design. “We strive to make each home feel collected and uniquely curated and are known for creating elegantly classic and visually stunning spaces that are breathtaking and awe-inspiring, while remaining practical and functional.”

Located in Kentfield, California, Wundrow and her team recently completed the design inside a 4,000-square-foot mid-century home built in 1950, for a young family with three children. “They initially hired us through Houzz to help with a major remodel on their home in Corte Madera, however, after pursuing remodel plans they ran into many planning restrictions and road blocks,” she recalls. “As luck would have it, this home was listed around the same time and they decided to forego their remodel plans and purchase this home.”

The previous homeowners renovated the home in 2017, so the focus for the current clients was on decor and functionality. “The clients were already planning to replace most of their old furniture because they are a family that uses their spaces and their furniture, so it was time for a refresh,” she says. “When they moved into this new home, it was easy for us to envision how to infuse furniture that would stylistically work with the way the clients live and the aesthetics of the home.”

One of the biggest challenges was there was limited storage due to how the home was originally designed. The team focused on creating thoughtful furniture solutions that would provide additional space with uncompromising style.

Being the client had to move in before the project was completed, there wasn’t one massive install day but a gradual room-by-room build-up. “Our preference is to always have one big reveal, but since this client moved in without a lot of existing furniture, we scheduled more deliveries than we do for most projects,” Wundrow recalls. “The clients were thrilled every time a new item was brought in.”
