Pop Up Home opens a permanent space in Melrose Hill packed with incredible furniture, art and accessories courtesy of Tricia Benitez Beanum’s flawless eye for a fabulous find

The roaming vintage furniture mecca Pop Up Home that is beloved by design aficionados and celebrities alike, now has a permanent address on Western Avenue in Melrose Hill just north of David Zwirner Gallery. Founder and creative director, Tricia Benitez Beanum, who has a background in estate sales and interior styling, has unveiled a sprawling, beautifully lit 7,800-square-foot, three-story space that showcases both her impeccable taste for discovering sensual, compelling furniture and accessories, as well as her knack for curating captivating vignettes. Exposed brick walls, raw pine wood flooring, and contemporary art from UNREPD—the gallery she co-founded with Sarah Mantilla Griffin that focuses on contemporary art by emerging artists, primarily women and artists of color—highlight a stunning selection of eclectic design styles ranging from mid-century to post-modern, antique to primitive, 70s studio pottery to modular furniture, that Beanum sources from around the globe on her frequent buying trips. 

Beanum tapped her coterie of accomplished friends to contribute their talents: there’s an imposing one-of-a-kind cash wrap, designed by Jason Koharik. Composed of hand-carved blocks that display their maker’s marks, it anchors one side of the main floor. Equally impressive is a corridor, located between the custom kitchen and the gift shop, that was a collaboration with interior designer and wardrobe stylist Faith Blakeney. A new logo and a new website round out Pop Up Home’s confident unveiling of their now and forever home. 

“From a warehouse with no sign and no real store hours, we have finally found a permanent space,” says Beanum. “It’s a place that we created and crafted exactly for our needs, our style and our community that feels intentional in every way.” Home sweet home indeed.
