Where To Shop: Dekor Warehouse
Author:Abigail StoneEver since Isabell Dahlin, a Swedish-born interior designer, opened her first store Dekor in Echo Park in 2011, we’ve been obsessive fans of her comfortable, eclectic, modern bohemian style.
Now, she’s opened a third branch (she moved her first store to Atwater Village; an outpost, located in Ojai, sells clothing, jewelry and organic beauty products as well as furniture, lighting and home accessories), that collects all of her inventive designs, impeccable finds and knack for combining disparate pieces under one inviting, expansive space.
The 5,000-square-foot warehouse, located in Frogtown, a historic section of Silver Lake, showcases the full collection of Dahlin’s designs, from custom sofas and chairs to tables. It’s also the first stop for the containers, full of choice goods and vintage finds, including lighting, accessories, art, textiles and rugs, arriving regularly from all over Europe and North Africa.
A room in the back is dedciated to showcasing Dahlin’s talent for mixing patterns, texture, color, periods and styles as they might look in a room in your home.
“The warehouse allows us to showcase special pieces that cannot be seen in our stores – like our custom sofas – so clients can see them, sit on them, try them out,” Dahlin says. “You can build your own vignette with rugs and side tables to see how it might look in your own home.”
Oh, if only our home looked this good!
