A Dream Casa Curated by The Future Perfect
Author:Abigail StoneFounded by David Alhadeff in 2003, Future Perfect is one of the world’s foremost destinations for collectable contemporary design. With its strong curatorial focus, the gallery brings together studio-created works, one-of-a-kind and limited edition pieces in a singular, narrative-driven environment.
The installment of their second Casa Perfect project in Los Angeles is, if it can be believed, even more stunning than its first itineration.
There’s the setting in Trousdale Estates, just north of Beverly Hills, one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighborhoods.
There’s the home’s pedigree: it formerly belonged to Elvis Presley, who bought the property in 1967. The 6 years he lived there with his wife Priscilla and their daughter Lisa Marie, were among his most successful. Suspicious Minds, Heartbreak Hotel and Hound Dog were some of the chart-topping hits he released while in residence here.
It’s easy to see what drew Presley to this home. Designed in 1958 by architect Rex Lotery, the house, with its winding driveway and large front courtyard, features floor-to-ceiling windows framing panoramic views of Los Angeles, a rolling green lawn that meets a boomerang-shaped swimming pool and exquisite interior details, including marble fireplaces and high coffered ceilings.
The spectacular setting is an ideal match for The Future Perfect’s collection of furnutre, lighting and home goods and accessories.
Available to visit by appointment only, guests are encouraged to wander around the estate, experiencing these pieces in the wild. Like its predecessor, the residence/gallery will feature a rotating display of The Future Perfect’s favorite designers, as well as SoCal exclusives and one-of-a-kind exhibitions
